Just as we figured, last night about 9:30 PM Tommy and I drove in to our usual parking spot at the DR's house. Tommy had bottomed out on his cell counts and was running a fever of 102. Once we got his Scooby Tail accessed (IV in to the port) we had blood drawn and it confirmed that he needed a transfusion, only this time he needed a platelet transfusion. The DR's were sure he'd bounce up from that and we'd be going home Friday night. Uh well, I knew they were wrong when they said that. They are great docs don't get me wrong, but we deal with the doc's in training on the ward and it's the hemock doc's that really run the orders and know what a cancer kid will do. So when 6:30 AM rolled around (only 3 hours after I fell asleep last night) and Zoe (one of our nurses) said "we're going to give him a red cell transfusion" I wasn't at all surprised. So much for going home tonight! Daryl and Maggie are on their way up for a pizza and movie date in Tommy's room. We'll be here till at least Sunday now - Monday is his 4th Birthday! WOW! Where did 4 years go?!?!?! Seems like we had him just like a couple of years ago. I'm proud to see him grow and do the things he learns from us and shows his tender loving ways too. Tommy has lost so much weight that they are starting him on steroids, 3x's a day. I get very sad looking at him these days and holding him. He's all skin and bones, it makes me so sad! Maggis is bigger (width, not length). Well, it's been a LONG 24 hours...will try to write more again tomorrow. Keep the prayers going <><

Hello from Maine,
Tommy, Kim, Daryl, Maggie -
I would like to you know that though we've never met, you are in my heart as deeply as if we had been friends throughout our lives.
Tommy, you fight and you keep fighting. You're a strong little man and there's nothing you will not accomplish. I am so happy you loved your new blanket and pillow. I hope you continue to love them as much as I enjoyed making them. It was my sincere pleasure to give them to you from my heart.
Kim, Stand UP! Lift your eyes to God and let him continue to do his good works through your love. You are very strong and we love you. I hope, someday, I will have the opportunity to meet you face to face.
Daryl and Maggie, you are loved and in our prayers. Stand strong and know that God is your rock to lean on and He will carry you through.
In God's love,
The Johnsons (Tracy and Scott)
